The event Water Hopes was a fundraise event for Palestine in March 2024. It was curated like a spiritual gathering to reflect on our collective grief and share hopes for peace.
This is a poetry and music performance with bespoke installation, in collaboration with my poet friend Phương Anh. The performance was created for a Donation event called Water Hopes for Palestine in March 2024.
58s continues what has happened in Palestine through responses to two poems by two authors at two different times. 58s establishes unknown spaces from different displacement to live with sand, dust and water. When it that nothing matters anymore or common sense does not sense, hope is the only matter of survival. Beyond the border of hope, any places can be home. Flying pinky-ing home.
At the end we gathered all our audience’s tea cups and put the rest of their tea into one container. We then walked towards the nearby river and pour the tea in it, as a symbol of letting the river water leads to the sea, along with our hopes.
